Julia is a NADFAS (National Association of Decorative & Fine Art Societies) lecturer, for The National Maritime Museum, Fine Art Societies, Sotheby’s Institute and Christie’s Education.
Julia’s lectures comprise a detailed PowerPoint lecture (approximately 1 ˝ hours long) showing a step by step process on one of the following subjects of your choice:

Identifying Forgotten Gems of the Art World: A Conservator's Experience
Each lecture starts with a brief history incorporating different approaches and techniques involved in the conservation of the chosen subject using fascinating case studies. Julia will show examples of her extensive tool collection to demonstrate their effectiveness and efficiency on the works of art.
This is followed by a session where Julia can answer any questions on conservation and should clients like to bring along their own works of art for advice on their care (after the lecture) she would be only too delighted to help.
The talk is very flexible and can be adapted in any way you wish.
Julia also does Study Days. There are four days held seasonally in Julia’s studios in West London Click here for the dates In addition, Study Days can be as requested by art societies and private groups throughout the year. Should you require a Study Day away from Julia’s base, she packs up the car and brings her studio with her.

Pictures & Frames Roadshow - Inviting members of the public to bring along their pictures / frames for appraisal.
This is then followed by various practical demonstrations including one-to-one advice throughout the rest of the day.
Our practical demonstrations are visual and hands-on which have resulted in enthusiastic and positive feedback. Clients are able to see, touch and take part in experiencing how the ancient techniques are still used today, through to the use of state-of-the-art equipment such as x-ray machines and UV lamps.
Clients are encouraged to bring their own pictures for advice on restoration, framing, re-mounting and/or for guidance on where to sell, if relevant.
