What beautiful little drawings he himself made of them! The audacity of buildings is wonderful! For though the sheer cliffs seem of a soft set stone, yet the bulk of the houses are built on the extreme edge of them, over the river, and with them the enormously solid towers, in one case making an almost straight line!
